Well, I guess going 1-1 isn't the end of the world, but they way we have been going, breaking even seems like a terrible night. Let's get back to the undefeated ways tonight:
Take Kent State -1 at Toledo. Kent State will win this MAC matchup tonight. They are simply the better team. They come into this game with a 16-6 record and winners of 10 of their last 11 games (9-2 ATS over this span)!! Kent State is 10-1 in the MAC. Additionally, they have won 5 straight on the road. Toledo is a putrid 4-8 in conference and only 5-11 ATS on the season. Kent State beat Toledo by 8 at home earlier in the season, and that was before their current hot streak. Kent State by double digits in this one.
Kent State -1 (***)
Next, Take Missouri State +4 at S. Ill. Am I the only one who is confused on this game? Not only is Missouri State riding a 3 game win streak while S. Ill is on a two game losing streak (including a loss at home to Ind. State) AND Mo. State has covered the last 7 games against N. Iowa, AND Mo State already beat S. Ill by 8 earlier in the year, but to top it all off the whole world is betting on S. Ill -4!!! If this is the case, it is screaming "fix", but I am banking on the fact that the public is just wrong here. This game should go down to the wire and I fully expect this game to be a basket difference one way or the other (with a good chance that Mo. State could pull it out). Take the points in this one b/c Mo. State should not be getting this many.
Mo. State +4 (**)
Finally, I hate to do this to my Tarheels, but take Duke - 5 at North Carolina. Yes, the tarheels are playing good ball right now, and Duke has struggled in their last few games, but the talent difference is too much here. In NC's last 2 games at home against "decent" teams, they have lost by 7 to Boston College and by 11 against Miami. Neither of these teams poses the challange that Duke does. Duke is WAY too experienced and deep for this Tarheel team. Look for Duke to cause a lot of turnovers and get plenty of points on the break. See, the problem is that North Carolina beats teams with their break, but Duke matches up great with that. Even last season when NC won it all, they lost at Duke and had to pull out a miracle to win at home. This year's team is not anything like last years' and Duke is better. Even if it is close for the first half (which I don't think it will be), Duke will run away with it in the second half as their overwhelming experience and talent will overcome any emotional high the tarheels are on.
Duke -5 (**)

Looks like Kent State did not come to play tonight...hope Mo State and Duke came to play.
Our first losing day in a week...I guess it's not the end of the world, but I can't believe that Duke, first, can't hold a 17 point lead in the 2nd half and second, can't make a few free throws down the stretch.
