Wednesday, February 8, 2006 --BIG Night

Well, after going 1-2 and suffering our first losing night in a week, we are going to get back on track in a BIG way!!! I have 3 solid games for you...can't see how I don't go 3-0 tonight:

First, take Miami at home -1 against NC State. Yes, NC St has been playing good ball as of late (winning 4 in a row), but so has Miami (winners of 3 in a row, including 2 on the road--one of those being Saturday's 4* game at GT). Miami's guardplay is just too much in this one as Diaz and co. will be able to dominate the perimeter and force numerous turnovers. NC St has the number one defense in the ACC, but they are going up against the number 2 defense AT HOME, playing for second place in the conference. This crowd/team will be jacked and they will cover one basket at home. I like Miami to easily cover this spread.

Miami -1 (**)

Next, take Iowa State +3 at K-State. Iowa State is playing better ball than K-State right now and it has been showing as K-State is on a 3 game losing streak and now the people in the little apple aren't blinded by the fact that their team just isn't that good. Iowa State travels well as they sport a 3-1 mark on the road this season. They are coming off an absolute dismantling of Colorado on Sunday and I look for them to continue this streak tonight. Iowa State should win this game, but take the number just to be safe.

Iowa State +3 (*)

Finally, take Boston College -2 at Wake Forest. I just dont' understand this line at all. BC is such a better team than W.F. W.F. is 1-8 in conference and it seems that they have given up. BC on teh other hand has rebounded from their early 0-3 start in the ACC to win 5 of 6 (the only loss by 2 --cover--at home against Duke). And in their last two games (1-1), their all-american Smith has played very poorly. Don't be suprised to see Smith go off in a big way against the inferior inside presence of W.F. And when he starts to get hot, that just leaves more space for Dudley to continue his recent streak of great play. BC should be favored by at least 6 in this game. They win going away.

Boston College -2 (***)

Thanks for your picks. You've been doing a great job. Very consistent this past week. I do the work on all the games everyday and it's interesting that we have been on the same plays, over the past few days. We took a bad beat in Miami, with 2OT, but Iowa ST. and Boston College, got the money. Thanks again.

Don't know how your clams are drowning in a sea of dispair. We actually were up one star on yesterday's games.

The Iowa State game hurt as they pushed b/c they led nearly the entire game and the only time K-State led by 3 was the final score. Miami was heartbreaking because, although they had a nice comeback, they had a shots to win the game at the end of regulation and overtime and missed them both.

But, although it was not a huge day, it was a positive one. And being that we have only had one losing day in over a week (and even that day was only a 1-2 day), don't know how you could be losing money...but I will try me best to have an undefeated slate tonight and then Saturday looks like another HUGE day (6-1 last Saturday, up 16*)!!

please redo your math. loses 1 star on Iowa St, 2 stars on Miami for a total of 3 stars. You had 3 stars on BC so 3 - 3 = 0 stars for the night? Right?

I am no math magician, but prologic, I think you are wrong on this one:

Lose 2* on Miami
Push 1* on Iowa State
Win 3* on BC

3-2=1 star up (I don't know what book you have that makes a push a loss but if that was the case, I suggest you find another to bet through)
