Well, every once in a while you have a two-team parlay that just can't be passed up. Tonight is that night. I am offering up 4 straight bets (2 of them parlayed into a LOCK 2-teamer) as well as another parlay if you are interested. Here we go:
First, play on Michigan -1 at home against Ohio State. I know that Michigan is coming off an absolute drubbing and that they were murdered by Ohio State in their first matchup...but this is the Big Ten and that means that Home Court is not a factor...it is the ONLY factor. Michigan was killed AT Iowa last game and AT Ohio State in their earlier meeting this year, BUT they are undefeated at home in conferece this season and have only one loss overall at home (to a very good UCLA team). In their last 3 home games in conference, they have beaten Wisconsin by 9, Michigan State by 5, and NW by 17. Ohio State, like everyone else in the Big 10, has gaudy home numbers, but they are only 3-2 on the road (losing their only two tough Big 10 road games...at Iowa and at Indiana). Michigan will get this one done tonight at home. Take the Wolverines in this one (this line is currently at 1 1/2, but buying it down seems the right play):
Mich -1 (**)
Next, take UCLA -1 at Washington. This line is odd. Yes, Farmer is banged up, but UCLA is hot wining 4 in a row and 8 of 10. Washington St. beat Washington, but they are still only 1-6 in their last 7 games. Also, keep in mind that UCLA has won 9 of the last 10 meetings between these schools including the last 5 at Wash St!!! Washington State will not have the offense (63 points per game) to match up with perhaps the best defense in the Pac 10. UCLA easily covers with an easy road victory.
UCLA -1 (**)
Now, down to my 2-TEAM PARLAY OF THE MONTH!!!
First, take West Virginia +5 at Pitt. I love Pitt and the way they play basketball, but has anyone noticed that they have lost 2 in a row and seem to be struggling. Also, am I the only one who has seen that West Virginia is 4-0 on the road this year winning at UCLA, at Villinova, at Oklahoma, and at St. John's?!!! And still they are getting 5 points??? Yes, Uconn is the number one team in the country, but do you know who is in sole possession of first place in the Big East? Yep, West Virginia is. Until someone beats them in conference, I just can't give them 5 points. Pitt only beat Marquette by 6 points at home...I don't think Marquette is in the same league as W. Vir. do you? Take W. Virginia and watch them keep this one within the number if not win outright.
West Virginia +5 (***)
The second part of my 2-teamer stays in the same conference. Take St. Johns +11 at Georgetown. Yes, Georgetown beat Duke and Pitt...but did you know that St. Johns beat Louisville and Pitt? Yes, Georgetown is tough at home, but 11 points tough against a good St. Johns team? I dont' think so. Another HUGE factor is that this is the trap game of all trap games. Georgetown just got a huge victory over Pitt and next game they play West Virginia. Sandwiched between those two is a little team (that G-town has to be looking past) called St. John's. There is NO way that G-town can be hyped for this game and you can't tell me that they won't take this game lightly in the wake of their upcoming W. Vir game. One more thing: G-town has won 5 straight (4-1 ATS) while St. John's has lost 4 straight (0-4 ATS) and if I know one thing, it is that linesmakers eventually right the ship which ends up throwing people off...and this game is that game where balance is brought back to both teams' lines. Take St. Johns +11 in a closer game then you think.
St. John's +11 (***)
***Remember: The 2-Team Parlay Lock of the Month is W. Vir & St. Johns***
Finally, as an added bonus I give you the Sixth Man's 6-team parlay that he gave to us. It is as follows:
Mich -1
Geo Tech +9 1/2
N. Tex -2 1/2
UCLA -1
Youngstown St +15
Cal -5
The Sixth Man claims that it is a winner (he was 3-0 last night) and I am going with it. I also bet them straight, but that is in your own discretion.
