COUNTRY ROADS, 06

ride the horse until it bucks ya. the birdman and i have consistently been big fans of playing a hot team over, and over, and over, until they stop covering. last year, you may recall, we were first on the mountaineers and rode them for five or six straight wins. with a team that just gets a little more experienced this year, why lay off now?

i know at first glance, WV laying 22 looks like a lot here. but a couple things to remember -

1. marshall is terrible, they had their good run with their nfl caliber qbs, but it's over now. they were 4-7 last year and dont figure to be much better this year.

2. marshall's road stats from last year; 12 ppg and about 284 ypg, and keep in mind those numbers are against conference usa teams, a conference not exactly known for its defense. they finished 102nd overall in scoring last year, only a few spots ahead of pilotpick's favorite fades syracuse and illinois.

3. wv brings back8 starters on the offensive side of the ball, including sophomore studs steve slaton and pat white .

4. as an in state game, no reason for rodriguez to slow down and let marshall even threaten to creep back into the game.

the mountaineers get this number in the 1st half tomorrow and never look back.

WEST VIRGINIA -22 (**)

Well done, looks like 6-1 to me. I didn't tail but I did have Northwestern and Nebraska. Records and the money in my account speak for themselves. Let's keep it rollin'!
