Cotton Bowl - Texas Tech v. Alabama

tech just has too much on offense for the crimson tide. besides getting blown out by texas (who in the big 12 didnt) they've been pretty solid on d. they beat nebraska and oklahoma in close games and drilled a&m. alabama did have that great win against florida, and beat spurrier pretty decent too, however, i think that was before carolina figured it, and the tide seem to have regressed offensively as the year has gone on.

alabama hasnt seen anything like tech's offense before. teams that really stick to it to the red raiders (texas, the sooners teams that were dominant on d) play them every year in the conference, alabama has to hope they can at least slow them down.

the red raiders will get their points in this game, the question is will alabama be able to keep up against a tech tech defensehat has turned into a pretty decent squad this year, only giving up 19 ppg, including a shutout at baylor.

the strength of the alabama d has been shutting down the run but that wont be nearly as much of a factor playing such a pass heavy team as tech. tech may not put up 50, but with 'bama's anemic offense it wont matter.

TEXAS TECH -2.5 (***)

I agree with Murdoch on this one. Remember last year when Cal had what some considered a "great" defense and Texas Tech drilled them as 16 point dogs...Texas Tech rolls in this one. Bama can't keep up.
