BBALL Saturday

I wish I would have posted yesterday. I know everybody hates the guy who talks after a winning day without giving the games prior, but we were 5-0 yesterday on the NBA! I only wish that we didn't decide to play our games "silent" for a bit until we figured out bball...damn, I had a great feeling about last night's games. But, you know what? I have some winners today for everybody.

Last night, the big winner was New Jersey +8 winning STRAIGHT UP at Cleveland. And you know, you have to ride a hot team like NJ. Tonight, take NJ -5 at home against Philli. Philli is a team that played with a lot of fire (especially AI) after Mo Cheeks was hired as their coach, but something has to give when there is no talent on the team. Webber is broken down, AI is trying to do too much, and the Sixers are not a good road team. Jew Jersey on the other hand is coming off a big win at CLE and is finally starting to find their rythm with Kidd, Vince, and Jefferson (remember, Jefferson was out last year and Kidd was playing hurt). And, with VC's breakout game on ESPN last night, I feel like he is getting back his "dominant" form. He wants the ball and is getting to the line (over 10 free throws last night)...he is taking the ball to the rack like in the old days. New Jersey is the dark horse to win the East, and you heard it here first...THEY ARE YOUR EASTERN CONFERENCE CHAMPS! This is a team that is starting to play great right now and I am going to ride them b/c as I say, "you ride her till she bucks you or you don't ride at all."

On a college note, I love...repeat, LOVE Duke -2 against Texas today. Teexas is not ready for this game. They are the "chic" team right now, but they ARE NOT DUKE. Duke has been playing down to their competition lately, but who can blame them if they are not up for the Virginia Tech's of the world. They have circled this game for weeks and Duke always likes to prove a point to teams that think they are read for the big time. Here is what you have to remember...Duke is the better team and on a nuetral site, this will be made very, very clear. I have seen Texas play this year in person...they are not that great...they are a turnover ready to happen as they play with too much reckless abandon. With Duke's pressure defense, this is going to lead to bad things. Look for Duke to win this game by 10 as Texas will have at least 25 turnovers.

(as a side note, the birdman will have college football bowl games posted by the end of the weekend, perhaps including the "bowl game of the year"...not sure yet on this one. As always NFL picks will be up tomorrow and we have some WINNERS!)
