Our biggest play of the year so far goes on Saturday...and it is:
PENN STATE -17
Illinois is bad...real bad...lose to Ohio bad. Penn State is coming off a tough loss to Mich. Last year in same exact situation they won at Illinois 63-10. This will be no different as Illinois needs to run to do anything and penn state has too good of run d to allow that. Penn State will have a field day against Illinois porous defense. Oh yeah, I almost forgot...Zook v. Paterno is the coaching matchup. This one is a laugher.
PENN STATE -17 (*****)
Other games to note:
Wisconsin -6
The Badgers are good...real good, and they still are not getting the credit that they deserve. They were only giving up 8 last week at home against Minnesota and absolutely destroyed them. Now this week, they are only giving up 6 to a very average Purdue team??? Makes no sense and from what the Sixth Man always told me, "what makes no sense, makes bad sense, which is therefore not good sense." If you are able to decifer that, you should be able to see that Wisconsin will run ALL OVER the Boilermakers in this matchup and they might not punt once. Purdue will get some points, but they wont be able to keep up as Wisky will run for paydirt many, many times.
Georgia Tech +7 1/2
Georgia Tech is a team that plays better in the underdog role. When they have expectations, they often can't live up to them (see Maryland game); however, when they are a significant underdog, they play very well (see Notre Dame and Va Tech games). Here they are an underdog of more than a TD against a good, but not great Clemson team. In this series, the visiting team has covered the last 11 years and in 9 out of the last 10, the winning margin has been 5 points or less!!! Too many points for a quality GT team with a solid defense. Take the points as this one goes down to the wire.
Texas -5
This is Dr. Moonlight's favorite game of the day and I have to say that I agree with him. His favorite game last week was Auburn and I reluctantly agreed to follow his advise and was happily pleased with an outright victory. Texas is the best team in the Big 12 and Nebraska is the 2nd best team...IN THE NORTH DIVISION! Yes, they are at home and yes, it is a HUGE game for them and yes it is McCoy's first road start...but it is still Nebraska's suspect offense against a tough, tough Texas Defense. This game might be close for a half, but Texas is the better team and it will show in the final score. Texas should win by 2 TD's.
