The Birdman's GUARANTEED Saturday Winners!!!

Well, since Murdoch is flying the friendly (and sometimes not so much) skies somewhere over eastern Europe at the time, it falls on the Birdman to make the picks for the weekend. I feel ashamed at my .500ish record at this point and therefore I am going out on a limb this Saturday. I am going to GUARANTEE a winning day. I am going to place 4 games on the board and if I don’t win AT LEAST 3 of them, I will never make another prediction on this site. That’s right, I am putting my whole reputation on Saturday’s slate of games. Without further ado, on to the picks…

First, take Minnesota –2 ½ at Purdue. Purdue is not a very good team right now and their defense is giving up yards by the bunches to teams that just aren’t that good. Minnesota struggled against Cal, but Cal is a solid team and sometimes that happens. Minn is more balanced this year than they have been in the past and this balance is what will lead them to the victory.

Next, take Houston as a PK at home against Oklahoma State. I know this seems odd, especially in light of how much Okie State has outscored their first three opponents this season, but their stats are misleading. Okie State has played NOBODY and they are going into what will be a tough crowd routing on the Cougers led by senior QB, Kolb, who will lead Houston to the rare victory over a Big 12 school.

Next, go with Utah –7 against San Diego State. This game can be simplified into one sentence. Utah is good and SDS is very bad. Utah is getting no respect in this line considering how bad SDS is this season. Utah probably wins this game by 24.

Finally, go with Washington +3 at home against UCLA. UCLA is not a good road team…simple as that. Top that off with the fact that they aren’t a very good team overall this season and you have an upset in the making. To make matters worse (or better for Wash bettors), Ty seems to have this Wash team playing with the same kind of intensity that he had the golden domers play with first season in South Bend. They actually can run and throw the ball and their defense is flying around the field. They upset Fresno last week in Wash and this week it is the Bruins who will leave feeling violated. Washington wins this game outright.
