both of these teams are in the bottom twenty on defense and in the top 20 in scoring offense, both averaging over 38 a game. i think this game is an absolute shootout, but will give ucla the slight advantage because northwestern has two more starters out for the sun bowl today. i would be shocked if someone doesnt get to 50 today. i like ucla but i think the better play is probably the over.

I agree with Murdoch on this one. Both teams have great offenses and both teams have putrid defenses. However, Northwestern is without their two best d-backs and have lost another starter off their defense. I can't imagine they force even one punt. UCLA, won't shut down NW, but they will force enough stops to cover the spread in this one.
I know that UCLA's kicker is suspended, but they can have their walk-on freshman kick extra points can't they...won't need too many field goals when you get in the paint every drive.
