NFL Winners

Great Duke victory yesterday...too bad the Nets suck. But, now we are back to the NFL and that is where we roll.

First up I am offering Carolina -5 1/2 at home against Tampa. Carolina destroyed Tampa earlier in the year (34-14) at Tampa and while I know that does not guarantee a victory later in the year, but Carolina is playing so much better than Tampa right now. Carolina is also playing for an NFC South title and they need this victory. Carolina's defense is playing great (16 points per game) and with Chris Simms at the helm of Tampa's offense, they will not manufacture enough points...no way. Tampa has simplified their offense and cut back their playbook to ensure Simms won't be knocked down as much...can't do that against the Panthers. Carolina wins this game by double digits.

I am officially releasing the first pick by the "Sixth Man." That pick is Cincinnati minus the points against Cleveland. Cleveland is starting Frye (rookie QB) on the road today...and we all know what happens to rookie QB's on the road in their first start. Cleveland absolutely blew the game last week against the Jags, blowing a 14-3 lead at half. They will not recover. Cincinnati is playing for a playoff spot right now (almost a guarantee, but not yet) and they will not let down. CLE has only covered 2 of their last 8 games including 0-4 in their last 4 on the road with double digit losses to Pitt, Baltimore, and Minnesota. None of these teams are the near as good offensively as the Bengals. Look for Rudi Johnson to run all over the Browns and Cincinnati wins this game by 20 according to the Sixth Man....lay the wood on the Bengals and watch them roll with ease. Last stat for you, in the past 12 games between these two teams the straight up winner is 12-0 ATS...do you think the Browns are going to the game??? Me either...go Cinn.

Cinn -12 (**)

If you are in a gambling mood, like I am, then you will probably want to take the Rams +7 at Minn. Minn has been playing great as of late since Dante went down and I loved them last week, but they almost blew it against Det and they will not cover the number today. They are feeling too good about themselves right now and the Rams are on turf in the dome at Minn and that will help that brilliant QB (sarcasm doesn't translate over the internet as I hate Fitzpatrick because he went to Harvard). The rams will cover this spread and maybe win this game outright as the Vikings will pull a "Tice" and screw this one up...no one really thinks Tice has righted the ship and turned this team around...me either.

Rams +7 (*)

We will have some later games including an absolute LOCK on the sunday night game...that line is flat out wrong. Also, more college games are released by the end of today and there are some big winners in there. Check back.
