another thing to take into consideration is that not only has WV proven they can, and will run on anyone, they've consistently shown that they are very, very hard to run against (allowing 94.3 ypg on the ground, in the last three they've given up 122, 62, & 12). a USF team that so heavily favors the run has seen nothing like the mountaineers d this year. looking at the four games the bulls have lost this year, there is one common thread, they havent been able to crack 3 yards per carry. WV has held 6 of their 10 opponents under 2 ypc. that's right two yards per carry. the only teams that were able to crack 4 ypc arent exactly lightweights either; louisville and va tech.
it should be pointed out that i love va tech. i think an apt comparison can be made between wv and va tech (besides the fact that they both consistently cover (combined 16-4 ATS this year) in that you have two teams that are going to shove the ball down your throat on offense and physically stop you from doing what you want to on defense. both teams are big, strong teams that wear you down over the course of a game. WV has covered there last 5 straight, each time by at least a touchdown, and that trend will continue this week against the bulls.
WV 42 USF 17.
