After the worst stretch (1-3) in PilotPicks history, we look to get back on the horse today. Everyone must understand that the most successful handicappers in the world have streaks that are downright godawful. 1-3, while horrible by our standards, is not the end of the world and it was right after a 4-0 stretch so if you went with them all, you actually went 5-4. We don't anticipate any more stretches like that, but let's hope everyone doesn't jump off the bandwagon too quick after the first bump in the road. Now on to today's games:
Jacksonville -3
I love this game. Arizona can't run the ball and will be forced to try to score through the air. Well Jacksonville has the number 5 pass defense in the league giving up only 179 yards per game through the air. Jacksonville coming off a loss to St. Louis in which they obviously looked past the Rams will be much more focused today as they are fighting for a spot in the playoffs as a wild card. Leftwich has been playing great and let's be real, Kurt Warner is about 4 years past his prime. He will throw at least two picks against this swarming Jags defense. I have seen this line at 3 1/2 so might want to buy it down to 3 just to be safe, but I feel the Jags win this one with some ease.
Chiefs -3
Take the Chiefs in this one. No Dillon means no run game for the Pats. The Chiefs secondary has been playing much better meaning Brady won't be able to throw all day on them. Also, Larry Johnson has been running the ball with a fury and now that the Chiefs have All-world tackle WIllie Roaf playing again, they should be able to control the ground game against a very shaky Pats D. Further, the forecast is for showers today which obviously favors a running game which I have already explained does not bode well for the Pats. Chiefs are at home and need this game...badly. Chiefs -3.
There might be some posts later today, most likely another 3pm game and the Sunday night matchup. Let's get back some money we gave up yesterday.
